What was the highlight of Blue Horizon Hotel
Perfect!
Very spacious for two people and perfectly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen facilities immaculate. The outside space was exceptional with different seating areas and a beautiful swimming pool with a view of the sea. The housekeeping was done every day. The location could not have been better for us. The staff we met on site were professional, helpful and friendly.
Nothing! There could be a better shower but quite standard for Greece.

What was the highlight of Blue Horizon Hotel
A lovely Blue Horizon!
Blue Horizon is a set of several villas in Gaios, Paxos. We stayed in villa Simos - a two bed villa with lovely far-reaching views and a private swimming pool. It is located not far from the Gaios Port - when we arrived we simply wheeled our suitcases up the winding road - it's about 15 mins walk up or 7 mins walk down. The villa was spotlessly clean, the Owner Simos - very friendly and welcoming. He checks the premises personally almost every day and if you need anything, he responds really quickly - eg we didn't like the white light from the reading lamps, and he immediately changed them to yellow-coloured ones. He even brought an extra floor-lamp. The pool is super clean - Simos drank out of it to prove :)) it's the cleanest pool I've ever been to! The scenery is beautiful, the location - perfect and very private. If you like to have a totally peaceful stay, away from the "maddening crows" - this is the place for you. (NB - you do hear boats arriving to the Port occasionally on the background but they are a very natural part of the audio scenery). Thers is a lovely pebble beach about 10-15 mins walk away. Blue Horizon is located on the other side of the Port - not the Town side. So it's a good 10-15 mins walk to the centre of Gaios with its restaurants, cafes and shops. We used to walk every evening on the side-walk on the edge of the water, with all the lovely colourful boats moored there, have a drink, some shopping and a dinner in the centre, then take a short taxi ride back to the villa for 5 euros from the Bus Station. Shops are opened in the morning, closed from 2-6pm while town goes into siesta mode, then open again 6-10pm, sometimes even later. So you can have your martini, buy a couple of dresses and a necklace, then go out to dinner. Those who come from Northern Europe - be prepared for a totally different style of living!
These are minor things, really: 1.Very hard spongy pillows (they are the same everywhere in Greece). If like me you are sensitive yo this bring your own feather one (I always do, they take very little space in a suitcase) 2. No basic food provisions whatsoever - you have to buy everything incl salt, pepper and sugar, olive oil for cooking, washing-up liquid, washing powder, dish-washing sponges, etc. It's not unknown, lots of places have this policy but it's always a little annoying when you arrive to an empty shell and have to buy everything from scratch. Much easier if basics like salt were provided. These are minor grievances, the villa is great and spotless - it's cleaned every day!!
